Zeenat Aman recently shared the story of shooting her 1987 film “Daku Hasina” while being pregnant. She revealed that she became pregnant early on in the shoot and by the end of filming was well into her third trimester.
To hide her baby bump, the crew came up with various creative shots, including scenes of Zeenat Aman riding a horse. She admitted being concerned about the safety of her unborn child during these scenes, as she had a previous scare on horseback when the animal had bolted due to artificial rain and blaring speakers on set.

Zeenat Aman also shared that her then-husband Mazhar made a special appearance in a qawwali number in the film, which she had forgotten until revisiting clips from the movie.
Released in 1987, “Daku Hasina” told the story of a girl named Roopa (played by Zeenat Aman) who joins bandits to seek revenge for her parents’ death after losing faith in the judicial system. Aman reflected on how the film aligned with the feminist wave of the 1980s in India, with legal reforms and social awareness on gender being the talk of the town thanks to exceptional women activists of the time.
