
The official trailer for Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated sequel Gladiator 2 has been released, featuring a fierce face-off between Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal.
Set years after the events of the original 2000 film, the story follows Lucius (Paul Mescal), the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen) and nephew of the villain Commodus from the first movie. Lucius is forced to enter the Colosseum as a gladiator after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors Caracalla (Joseph Quinn) and Geta (Fred Hechinger) who now rule Rome.

Pedro Pascal plays Marcus Acacius, a Roman general who once trained under the legendary Maximus (Russell Crowe’s character in the original). Denzel Washington also stars as Macrinus, a wealthy powerbroker in Rome who owns a stable of gladiators.
Gladiator 2 trailer showcases intense gladiator battles, political intrigue in the Roman court, and Lucius’ quest to restore honor and glory to Rome. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find the strength to challenge the corrupt rule of the Emperors.

Gladiator 2 is set to open in theaters on November 22, 2024. The film boasts an impressive supporting cast including Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, and Derek Jacobi. Hans Zimmer, who composed the music for the original, returns to score the sequel.
