The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, remains stranded in Barbados following their T20 World Cup win due to Hurricane Beryl. The team was scheduled to depart Barbados on Monday, July 1st at 11 am local time, but the closure of the Grantley Adams International Airport has indefinitely stalled all flight services.
Hurricane Beryl, classified as a Category 4 storm, is currently surging through the Windward Islands with life-threatening winds and storm surge expected in Barbados. The country has been in lockdown since Sunday evening, with the airport shut down, water and electricity supplies disrupted, and a curfew imposed from 6 pm.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who is also stuck in Barbados, stated that the priority is to ensure the safe evacuation of the players and officials before planning any felicitation upon their return to India. The BCCI is exploring various charter flight options, but the airport’s reopening depends on the weather conditions improving significantly.
The Indian Cricket team, which secured a thrilling seven-run victory over South Africa in the T20 World Cup final, is currently staying in a five-star hotel in Barbados. Their departure has been delayed by at least another day due to the hurricane’s impact on the island nation.
