Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistan captain, has reacted positively to Gautam Gambhir’s appointment as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. Afridi said that it is a “big opportunity” for Gambhir and that he will have to make the most of it.
Shahid Afridi noted that he has “seen his [Gambhir’s] interviews” and that Gambhir “talks positively and is very straightforward.” Afridi believes that Gambhir’s direct approach will serve him well in his new role.

Gambhir, the former Indian opener, will replace Rahul Dravid as the head coach of the Indian team. He will take charge of the team for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka later this month and has been appointed for a tenure of more than three years.
Shahid Afridi and Gambhir had some intense on-field battles during their playing careers, but it seems Afridi is willing to put aside their past differences and wishes Gambhir well in his new role as the head coach of the Indian team.
