According to the reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering two potential replacements for Rohit Sharma as India’s next T20I captain: Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav.
Hardik Pandya, who was the vice-captain of India’s T20 World Cup-winning team, is seen as the ideal candidate to replace Rohit as the T20I captain. However, the BCCI is reportedly concerned about managing his workload due to his injury history.

Suryakumar Yadav, who has captained India in 8 T20Is against Australia and South Africa, has emerged as a surprise frontrunner for the T20I captaincy role. The BCCI is said to be considering him as a potential short-term option until the next T20 World Cup.
The BCCI is also reportedly considering resting senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour, which could provide an opportunity for the new T20I captain to take charge.
