Abhishek Sharma’s knock was the highest individual score by an Indian in a men’s T20I, surpassing KL Rahul’s 91 not out. He also scored the most runs against Zimbabwe spinners in a men’s T20I innings, plundering 65 off just 28 balls at a strike rate of 232.14.

After being dismissed for a duck in the 1st T20I, Abhishek Sharma bounced back in style, showcasing his versatile aggression that could help fill the void left by the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. His maiden T20I century came off just 13 balls after reaching his half-century, the fastest by an Indian.
India went on to win the match by 100 runs, leveling the series 1-1. Ruturaj Gaikwad also starred with an unbeaten 77 off 47 balls. The Indian bowlers then restricted Zimbabwe to 128/7 to complete a comprehensive victory.
